In the Dragon, Black fianchettoes the dark-squared bishop on g7, where it rakes the long diagonal toward White’s queenside. Both sides castle on opposite wings and race to attack — White storms the kingside with h4-h5, Black peels open the c-file. It is one of the sharpest openings in chess.
